On Server 2008 R2 running as a remote desktop session host, I have a logon banner configured to which users must hit OK before entering credentials. Users are configured to autoconnect to the RDSH server, and if someone is not at the desk, their session will sit at the logon banner for 2 minutes, and the RDSH server will end the session. Autoconnect will connect again, and after 2 minutes, is kicked off again. This is an endless cycle. I need a way to pause the timeout, or modify the value of the timeout, or somehow auto-hit the OK button after 30 seconds or so. Or another idea would be good too. The end devices fail to sleep when they are autoconnecting every 2 minutes.
Here are some things I cannot do to resolve the issue:
I cannot disable the banner.
I can disable the autoconnect feature, but REALLY want to keep it. The autoconnect feature is part of NComputing L300 end devices (thin clients).
Not sure if custom GINA DLLs could have changed this behavior, but in any case they are no longer used in 2008 R2 so that won't help.
I watched the initial connection and disconnection in process monitor, and looked through all reg entries referenced and did not find anything helpful.
There is an old workaround to previous versions of server here: http://www.ncomputing.com/kb/L-series-Windows-logon-screen-disconnects-after-2-minutes_259.html
But I do not see how to implement that in 2008 R2, the same reg locations do not seem to work.
Thanks for any help in advance!
