Using Windows Server 2012 Standard as a domain server in a small business environment. (15 computers max).
Am all set up externally, and from outside the network can connect to https://mysite.com/rdweb with no problems. When I click the "connect to computer" option, I fill in the computer name and click Connect. I note that the RD Gateway servername is server.mysite.com instead of mysite.com Obviously, I can't connect to the remote computer. However, if I start the RD program itself and fill in the RG credentials as they should be (mysite.com) I connect no problems.
I'm "guessing" I need to do something with DNS. Do I need to add a Host A record? If so, I"ve no idea where. Any guidance would be appreciated.
Update: Found Solution.
Open IIS Manager and navigate to Default Web Site/RDWeb/Pages/en-us
Open Application Settings and change DefaultTSGateway to correct address
Default address was servername.mysite.com Changing this to mysite.com fixed the issue. One thing I noted is that changing it one level below at Pages, it was not inherited by en-us.
