Platform:
Server 2008 R2 Session servers
RDP client version 6.0 and greater
The Scenario:
We currently don't have a problem succesfully connecting to session servers using an RDP file for RemoteApps. Our problem lies in the default functionality we see during the logon experience.
When launching an RemoteApp session via RDP file, we are left wondering what is happening in the background. We don't know if the session server applying group policies, if it's successfully launching the RemoteApp program in the background, or if it's halted at the logon screen with incorrect credentials. The most important of these would be that the end-user doesn't even know if they have entered the correct credentials, and would only know if they hit the 'Details' button on the temporary RemoteApp dialog box.
The Question:
Is there a way to automatically launch a RemoteApp RDP file and use the 'Details' window or something similar to a console view, and then disappear when it's time to display the RemoteApp? The closest we came to this was by disabling multi-monitor, and monitor spanning in the RDP file settings to get the 'Details' window to appear. Even at this point, the resolution is too great, and displays the session server's console in an unusable manner.
