This is so confusing.
I understand that "RemoteFX" now means "RDP8", i.e. not just vGPU stuff.
I want to run a session-based RDP system, i.e. a traditional terminal server, not VDI, but I want to benefit from dynamic audio codecs that operate well over WAN links, for voice dictation.
Will I get those benefits (a) if I just run a physical RD-SH, *without* any kind of Hyper-V, and without a physical GPU?
secondly, do I need to make sure that "RemoteFX" is in use? I do not care about 3D graphics, but I read that in Server 2012, RemoteFX = "the collection of: audio compression, UDP, improved WAN stuff, USB redirection, and vGPU", but that a physical GPU is not required.
I want to make sure I am getting the other benefits, in particular the audio codecs.
Thanks,
Carl
