background: small business, 50 seats on the lan, pdc and dc, linux machine running a virtual SAP server, backend database server, but the issue here involves another server on this network, win2k8r2 running terminal services. DHCP is shared between
the pdc (scope of 100 addresses which is always either full or having only 2 or 3 available addresses) and a PFSense firewall that handles the rest of the scope (class c.) The terminal services machine grabs several IP address from dhcp within minutes,
ten or twenty, while only using one address for a given client. See screen shot from PFSense dhcp server, and note that the ip's highlighted all reference the mac address of the single nic that is attached on the terminal services machine:<v:shapetype

So, how can I stop this behavior? Either prevent the server from requesting extra and erroneous addresses, or any other workaround that would stop this behavior? The root problem is that the class c address space is very nearly full. What
is needed is to expand the existing address space or add more to it, perhaps with another router running another scope. But in the mean time, I could really use a fix for this issue which would free up 15 to 20 addresses right now that are needed for
