I have this issue with TS licensing.
Background:
- 2008 R2 functional level domain built from 2008 R2 systems
- License server activated scoped to the forest: License Manager reports "Activated" and "OK" Status
- License server is in the "Terminal Server Licensing Servers" built-in domain group. Added "Network Service" and the Terminal Server computer account to the built-in group during trouble shooting
- The "Terminal Server Licensing Servers" has read and write msTS attributes to Domain user accounts
- RDP session host configuration discovers License Sever Manager and is configured.
- RDP session host server Licensing diagnostics reports no errors
- If I stop the RDP licensing service the RDP session Host Diagnostics shows errors. Restart the service Licensing Diagnostics Status reports back it no errors and shows the license server as "Available" in the bottom summery section.
- The systems are in a well connected network and on the same subnet.
- The only recorded error is Event 1130, TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager: which states a license server is not specified. But is specified in session host configuration
It seems the RDP session host, although configured and connected does not contact the license server for an initial license request.
