Since the RDP-TCP settings, which includes the Environment tab (i.e. "Start the following program when user logs in") are gone in Windows Server 2012 RDS, and I do not see the ability to specify a startup program for when user logs onto a server within the RDS settings under Server Manager, is there another way for me set this in Server 2012?
My goal is to allow for users to connect via Remote Desktop Web Access to access a few different programs (working now), but to ideally run a specific program if they log directly into the server (so that they don't get access to the entire desktop - which is possible to control in Server 2003 and 2008 R2 through that Environment tab).
Am I missing this setting in the Server Manager, or is this something that maybe can only be set via PowerShell? Or is a GPO the way to go, and if so, can I specify the start-up app for each server/session host? What is the best practice to address this?
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
