Hi,
following situation:
One Server 2012 with Hyper-V-Role (quad core, 64 Gig ram, 4 Disks RAID10)
two Server 2008R2 as terminal servers with XenApp 6 virtualized on the Server 2012 (vquadcore, 12Gig ram per Server) (Disks streamed through Citrix PVS, reboot at night, everything nice and fresh in the morning, profile management)
4 user per Terminalserver, using desktop publishing, only two applications (Microsoft Office and company related crm)
With this environment we have performance issues. Sometimes (5-10 times a day for different users) the actual used application hangs for 30 sec-1,5 mins (seems like only the applications are affected, because task manager is never a problem to use and kill the processes). This happens to all users, with both of the applications, not reproducible. If one user is affected the other users can work without any problems. No info in the applicationlog/systemlog. It's no difference if all the users are working or only one user on the whole server, same behavior. Only thing I can see through perfmon, that the terminalservers got high pagefaults/seconds (sometimes about 90000/s for 3 or 4 minutes) but at the same time its only using 4-5gb of the 12gb ram. My questions are:
- are there any tweaks, optimizations for terminal server on hyper-v especially for resource management (maybe the hyperv management works against the terminal server management?)
- is it possible to force the terminal server to use/allocate more ram (like database systems) or to give the sessions exact values for resource use (for example: 4gb for every session)
thanks for any help, thoughts...
best regards,
tim
