Morning All,
I have been trying to fix a few problems we are having on our new remote desktop server.
This is a new server that we set up a few days ago, and is now on site in a remote office, and ready to go.
We moved a couple of users onto the server yesterday to start testing it out, but have encountered some major problems that we have not seen before.
The server is 2008 R2, and has the session host, and licensing server roles installed, as well as file services (search and file server roles).
The problems we have are:
- When trying to set up Outlook 2010 exchange account using auto setup, we get error code: 0x80070057
- When opening MS Word, we get: "Your autocorrect file, \MSO2057.acl, could not be save. The file may be read only, or you may not have permission to modify the file"
- When closing Word, we get: "Word cannot save or create this file. Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is not full, write-protected, or damaged. (C:\normal.dotm)
- Some users have managed to get their Outlook account setup, but get the same error code as point 1, when trying to open or move an e-mail
- Windows search is also a problem, as searching from the start menu returns no results, and clicking on "See more results" gives an error: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access the item.
My initial thoughts, where that the registry settings for the AppData folders per user, have not been set correctly, meaning that the files that are trying to be written, are attempting to save in the wrong location.
I could not see how to check this in the registry, but all the environment variables look to be ok compared to our functioning 2008 R2 RD server.
If anyone can offer any suggestions or advice, that would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Eds
